OSHA Partners With Manhattan Torcon JV To Protect The Workers Constructing New Medical Facility
Workers who are involved in constructing the new medical research facility at Fort Derrick will be safer now because of the new partnership formed between OSHA( Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Manhattan/Tor con Joint Venture.

The U.S Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases which is at Fort Derrick, in Frederick will be the the bio-defense laboratory for the U.S Department of Defense. The area of about 865,000 square feet will i have bio-safety research labs, administrative and support areas. The project had started in July 2009 and is expected to be completed by May 2014. When the construction will be at peak then it will involve approximately 800 workers.

The OSHA's partnership program will encourage, assist and recognize the efforts of partners to eliminate any serious workplace hazards and achieve a high level of worker safety and health. Most strategic partnership seek to have to have a great impact by building cooperative relationships with the groups of employers and workers. All these partnerships are the voluntary relationships among OSHA,worker representatives, employers and others.

According to 1970, Occupational Safety and Health Act, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. The role of OSHA is to assure these safety conditions for the America's working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing OSHA safety training, assistance and education.
