OSHA has cites 3 subsidiary companies that are owned by Jinny Corp. The companies in question are: JBS Beauty Club, Jinny Beauty Supply Co. and JBS Hair Distribution Center. All three companies are based in Doraville and have been given combined safety violations of 22 counts. The proposed penalties total up to $71,000. Jinny Corp. is a manufacturer and supplier of beauty and hair care productions, and has operations that cover Miami, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. In response to a complaint made, OSHA conducted several investigations into the 3 subsidiary companies. JBS Beauty Club was cited with 6 serious violations including blocking exits with shelving, locking emergency exits, exposing employees to electrical hazards, not illuminating exit signs and failing to provide employees with trainings on how to operate a fork lift. An explosion at a chemical plant in Middleton has injured 4 people and shaken the surrounding community. The explosion occurred on March 13th, 2011 at the Bostik Chemical Plant in Middleton somewhere around 8 p.m. According to officials at the plant, it is still unknown what really caused the explosion at the plant. The company however, was not exactly in a position to share the cause of the blast or to provide more details of the chemical process that takes place normally and what happened at the time of the incident. Residents around the area described the explosion as a sonic boom and said that it could be felt for miles around. The number of people injured in the blast included three men and one woman. These victims were immediately rushed to an area hospital where a decontamination tent was set up. All 4 victims have since been treated and releases. OSHA is currently investigating into the case.

OSHA is now investigating an explosion that took place at a copper plant in Leetsdale. The explosion that occurred early Tuesday morning injured three people. It happened at Hussey copper along Washington Street at around 9 30 am. The OSHA officials said that the explosion was minor and occurred when water spilled beneath ingots during the process of making copper. The Leetsdale Police Chief James Santucci said, “We had two other victims who were down in the hole. Once the minor explosion occurred they were burned about twenty per cent of their body”. The three victims are being treated at UPMC Mercy Hospital in the burn unit. The victims' names and conditions have not yet been released. Even after the incident, the plant was not evacuated. Moreover, it continued to run throughout Tuesday. It has been discovered that the plant was fined around $60,000 during the past decade. A man from Sussex County is in a critical condition after he was injured in a forklift accident. The incident took place at a Hackettstown construction site. Gregory Schimdt, aged 41, was working for the Blue Ridge Lumber Co. Detective Darren Tynan said that he was working at a senior citizen residential facility under construction on Route 57 at the time of the accident. Apparently, Schimdt was trying to place pieces of wood under a pallet of lumber for elevating it so that a forklift operator could take off the Blue Ridge delivery truck. The forklift driver was not present at that time. But, he had left the forklift in drive, according to the police. The victim was manually widening the forks for accommodating the pallet. This caused the forklift to roll forward, pinning Schimdt against the truck. Tynan said, “We don't know after the forklift driver got off the vehicle where he went to. Federal inspectors could take up to 6 months to complete an investigation that's related to the collapse of New Cannan's historic Maples Inn. Robert Kowalski, the director of OSHA's Bridgeport area office said that, "We are in fact-finding mode," he went on to say that, "Once we have all the information ... if there are citations warranted, they will be issued. But it's too early in the investigation process." Currently, the OSHA inspectors have found that high winds were primarily responsible for toppling this historic Inn that dates back to 1876. The Maples Inn is located on the Oenoke Ridge Road. The owners of the Inn, Tom Kennedy and Andy Glazer, said that they would continue to build luxury apartments on the site. Two plumbers were working in a ditch that was near Allen Homes off Blum Street when the water started rushing in. This resulted in a wall of dirt collapsing on them. OSHA is now investigating into the matter. The firefighters were able to successfully save one man. Unfortunately, the other, Jimmy Robles, died. The company, Universal Plumbing, is the one that is responsible for the trench collapse. However, it has not yet released a statement about what really happened or if the workers had followed the precautionary measures during the collapse. According to the representative of Universal Plumbing, the company is still preparing a statement. Mark Bowen, the Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner, says that the body was recovered from about six feet underground.
